Celtic missed the chance for some revenge – a tiny bit of it – against Rangers last weekend.
With Rangers already being crowned Premiership champions, the Hoops’ only motivation was to try and stop Steven Gerrard’s side from going the season unbeaten.
But Celtic could only muster a 1-1 draw against the Gers at Parkhead and therefore failed to stop a perfect season – well, for now.
The Ibrox outfit are a staggering 20 points clear of their Old Firm rivals in what’s been a dismal season for the latter, who began the campaign vying for 10-in-a-row.
But Rangers haven’t stuck to the script and have blown away virtually anybody who has come up against them this season.
Mikael Lustig was at Celtic for eight of those nine successive titles and therefore he would’ve been quite invested in his old club making history, and Rangers powerhouse Filip Helander claims that his fellow Swede isn’t pleased with how things panned out.
He said to Fotballskanalen: “He’s not so happy but I’m happy. He has received little jibes. But he has actually congratulated me.”
