Tim Sherwood has claimed that Rodrigo Bentancur is getting ‘better’ in a Tottenham shirt, but he still hasn’t set the world alight.

The 24-year-old joined Spurs during the January transfer window from Juventus, alongside, Dejan Kulusevski.

Spurs Sporting Director, Fabio Paratici, has worked his magic by, not only bringing Antonio Conte to the club, at first.

But then, using his former club to sign two players that have helped them into their current position – fourth in the Premier League table.

Whilst Kulusevski is stealing the headlines for the action he is providing in the final third, someone like Bentancur is going under the radar, as Sherwood shared his thoughts on the player, whilst speaking to Premier League Productions.

“Bentancur is getting better by every game as well,” said Sherwood. “He’s not set the world alight, at the moment.

“But I can see that there is something there and he is going to be a very good player as well.”

From the moment Bentancur stepped onto the pitch at Spurs, he started showcasing his magic with a brilliant cameo on debut.

Since then, Conte has made him a regular in the team, and in truth, it has also meant that the north London club haven’t missed Oliver Skipp in the middle of the park.

Either way, the composure Tottenham’s new boy is showing from deep, the ability to carry the ball out, fire the ball into his forward players, continually attack space and play some lovely disguised passes.

It has been some start from the hard-hitting player, who will be hoping his first few months in Tottenham colours result in them securing Champions League football.
