Harry Redknapp has stated that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang isn’t a ‘true Arsenal legend’ after hearing people compare him with Thierry Henry, as he told his own podcast.

The former Premier League boss made it clear that the currently out-of-form Aubameyang is ‘not in the same league’ as Arsenal legend, Henry.

In the summer, when Arsenal were lifting the FA Cup, Aubameyang was being lauded by the supporters.

But a lot has changed since then and Redknapp doesn’t think the £56 million Gabon star [BBC Sport] is comparable to some of the club’s greats.

“I hear people saying three or four months ago that he’s got to be a true Arsenal legend, Aubameyang,” said Redknapp. “And they compare him with Thierry Henry.

Arsenal have recently found out what life is like when Aubameyang isn’t putting the ball into the back of the net because there was talk of a potential relegation battle.

But those young stars are starting to get the club out of the mess and if Aubameyang can join them then it would seriously start to push them up the table.

If Aubameyang can get Arsenal into Europe and secure another trophy this term then his status at the club will no doubt rise even further.
