The Athletic reported this morning that some Tottenham Hotspur players are already finding new head coach Nuno Espirito Santo quite ‘distant’ and ‘uncommunicative’.
Nuno has only been Spurs’ boss for a little over a month and his reign will begin on Sunday with a visit of Premier League champions Manchester City.
Along with Fabio Paratici, the Portuguese has enjoyed a decent summer transfer window and three players – Pierluigi Gollini, Cristian Romero and Bryan Gil – have arrived in North London.
But there’s still a lot of deadwood which needs offloading before transfer deadline day in a couple of weeks, not to mention the fact that Harry Kane’s future remains up in the air, after missing training on a number of occasions last week.
Here’s how some Tottenham fans are reacting to The Athletic‘s report about Nuno’s methods:
Big deal?
Not really, no.
It’s Nuno’s job to win football matches and if the Spurs players follow his instructions on the field, and at Hotspur Way, then being ‘distant’ away from games and training isn’t a huge issue.
