Speaking on Sky Sports, Gary Neville has been discussing Harry Kane’s future after Tottenham were, once again, eliminated from the FA Cup.
Barring a Champions League miracle, Spurs’ trophy drought is set to continue this season, and according to Neville, Kane may now want to leave the club.
Neville, of course, knows a thing or two about Kane’s transfer mindset. After all, it was his interview on The Overlap that sparked all sorts of speculation in the summer of 2021.
Nevile thinks that Kane will want to move to another club in England, and hebelieves that Manchester United is his only option right now, stating that he can’t join Arsenal or Chelsea due to the rivalry with Spurs and he couldn’t join Manchester City due to the presence of Erling Haaland.

Kane can only join United
Neville gave his verdict on Kane.
“Harry Kane will want to win trophies I think. Whether he sees it as a case where he commits to Tottenham for his last five years and he does what some players, Matt Le Tissier did it, where he commits to the club because he loves the club, but if Harry is going to leave now is the time. He’s a wonderful player, he’s a great professional,” Neville said.
“If he could leave now for a club in Manchester probably, either United or City, I think he would take that. It won’t be City because of their Haaland expenditure. United need a centre-forward and it looks like the most likely move.
“Chelsea, I can’t see him going to Chelsea, he’s quite loyal to Tottenham and there’s a rivalry between Tottenham and Chelsea. I don’t see that happening. He’s not going to go to Arsenal again because of the rivalry. Bayern Munich has been mentioned, that could happen and I think Levy would be happier if he was sold internationally.”
Never say never
Neville says that Kane can’t join Chelsea or Arsenal due to the clubs’ rivalry with Tottenham, but you can never say never in this game.
Kane’s Spurs legacy could remain intact after a move to Chelsea. After all, Glenn Hoddle and Jimmy Greaves also played for the Blues, and while a move to Arsenal is hugely unlikely, you’d have said the same about Sol Campbell back in the day.
If Kane does truly want to leave Spurs, then any team in the country would want to sign him, that’s the reality.
