Ben Foster doesn’t think Newcastle United defender Dan Burn or Everton’s James Tarkowski will go to the 2022 World Cup with England, even if he thinks they should, as he told his own YouTube channel.
The former Premier League goalkeeper claimed that Newcastle United defender Dan Burn will be seen as ‘not glamorous’ enough to be selected by Gareth Southgate.
Eddie Howe’s side have the best defence in the division this season, which Burn has played a part in, and it wasn’t so long ago that Everton were sitting at the top of that tree under Frank Lampard’s stewardship.

Tarkowski is already partnering a regular England international in Conor Coady, who will be expected to go to Qatar, but since his free transfer to Goodison Park from Burnley, he has been outstanding.
Could Southgate take a name that hasn’t recently been selected? With Harry Maguire out-of-form and injured, the Manchester United defender surely can’t go, if he does, then it will create a big uproar.
Nonetheless, whilst Foster shared that he would select Burn and Tarkowski, he explained why it won’t happen.
“Without a doubt, he has got to be in with a chance (Burn for England),” said Foster. “Him and Tarkowski, for sure have to be in there.
“He (Burn) won’t get a chance because he doesn’t play for a proper big boy. He’s not a glamorous name and not one of those who will get it out from the back and play it, which he actually is, to be perfectly honest with you. Rolls-Royce. A utility defender.”

BURN AND TARKOWSKI ARE UNDERRATED
England’s weakness is without a doubt their defence and a big talking point heading into the World Cup.
Southgate has selected Maguire on a regular basis, including during the previous international break, which drew criticism because he was hardly playing for Man United and struggling for form.
Well, he hasn’t played since and with less than a month remaining for Qatar, it has to be questioned how he earns that ticket now.
If he is dropped, then that would open the door for a Tarkowski or a Burn, who are only going from strength to strength with their current clubs.
