Kvicha Kvaratskhelia is ‘not for sale’ amid reports linking Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City with the Serie A star, Napoli’s sporting director Cristiano Guintoli tells DAZN, via Football Italia.
Is there a better side in world football right now than Napoli?
A certain Pep Guardiola might have something to say about that, but not even Erling Haaland’s City can compete with a record of 14 wins out of 16, a two-month unbeaten run in all competitions, and a tally of 20 goals in just five Champions League group-stage fixtures.

Napoli’s outstanding start to the campaign looks even more impressive when you consider that, not so long ago, president Aurelio de Laurentiis was coming under fire for what supporters deemed to be an underwhelming summer of recruitment; a veritable unknown in Kvaratskhelia arriving from Georgian football following the departures of legendary forwards Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne.
Liverpool and Man City reportedly like Napoli’s Kvicha Kvaratskhelia
Few are questioning the logic of Kvaratskhelia’s signing now.
Seven goals and eight assists in 15 games aside; the one-time Leeds United target has earned himself a place in Neopolitan hearts in double-quick time with his exhilarating style of play and his penchant for the spectacular. That ‘Kvaradona’ nickname tells it’s own story.
“He is doing very well, as are many,” says Guintoli.
Partenopei supporters, he adds, have nothing to worry about despite reports suggesting Liverpool and Man City have taken an interest.
“There’s a long way until the transfer window opens, but there is absolutely nothing in it. We are very happy and we want to keep doing well. Is Kvaratskhelia off the market? Absolutely. He is not for sale.
“I repeat; we are not thinking about the transfer market right now. We try to grow day by day to see what we can achieve.”
Compared to Mo Salah by Fabio Capello and dubbed a ‘special’ talent by ex-Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti; Kvaratskhelia is under contract until 2027 at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona.
“He’s not focused on Premier League links or a new contract, at all,” Kvaratskhelia’s father tells Imedi TV.
