Kevin Campbell says it’s ‘exciting’ that Arsenal could sign Chelsea transfer target Moises Caicedo after bringing in Declan Rice.
The Arsenal legend was told of Chelsea’s interest in the Brighton midfielder, but he made it clear that ‘he’s not a Chelsea player yet’, as he told the Highbury Squad.
There is talk of Thomas Partey leaving this summer, and if that’s the case, then Mikel Arteta will have to bring in another big-name and Campbell was backing Moises Caicedo to be that guy.
The only issue Arsenal and other interested parties will face is that the £105 million deal for Declan Rice has set the tone of the window.
Now, every Premier League club will feel that their star midfielder is worth a lot more because the former Hammers captain has just been sold for an inflated price.
Either way, Campbell discussed the possibility of Rice and Caicedo partnering with one another in the middle of the park next season.

“People say if Thomas Partey goes, then we get Caicedo,” said Campbell. “Remember we had a discussion at the end of last season. Could we get both of them? (Rice and Caicedo).
“You get Rice and you get Caicedo, now that’s exciting.
On rumours Caicedo is going to Chelsea: “Well, he’s not a Chelsea player yet, now is he?! That’s the funny thing. He’s not a Chelsea player yet.
“Normally you would think that Chelsea would have done the business, but they haven’t, so this leaves the door open.”

Rice, Caicedo and Partey at Arsenal
If Arsenal can get Caicedo in and keep Partey, then that would be the near-perfect summer for the Premier League title chasers.
But that’s unlikely to happen and Arsenal will need to part ways with their players before bringing in another big signing.
With Granit Xhaka already out of the door, perhaps it’s wise from Arsenal’s perspective to keep hold of Partey because then that would result in too many changes being made to the midfield.
