Some Leeds United fans on social media have been full of praise for Sam Greenwood after his performance for the U23s on Monday evening.
Leeds’ youth side couldn’t quite overcome Manchester City, losing 3-2 despite the fact the likes of Patrick Bamford and Luke Ayling started for Mark Jackson’s side as they ramp up their recovery from injury.
However, regardless of the result, there were a few bright performances and Greenwood was certainly the standout.
The former Arsenal man bagged two goals and his all-around play was exceptional.
Fans were quick to praise the youngster, calling for him to get a chance in the first-team, while some even compared him to Mateusz Klich and his namesake Mason Greenwood.
Fingers crossed Greenwood can continue to progress and we see him make his mark for the senior side at Elland Road in the not so distant future.
