Harry Kane has insisted to BT Sport that Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has made it very clear to him that he wants to win a trophy next season.
Mourinho has won silverware at every club he has managed so far in his career, but his time at Tottenham has not gone according to plan so far.
The Portuguese boss has been hit hard with injuries to key players, but even when he has had a fully fit squad available, Tottenham have hardly shown many signs of encouragement.
Mourinho’s side have struggled since the restart, but Kane insists that Tottenham are putting plans in place to be more successful next term.
“We’ve built up a good relationship and we talk very often,” Kane said, as quoted by the London Evening Standard.
“He wants to win, he’s here to win. Obviously there are no trophies to play for this season but next season that’s his aim. Everything is about winning and he’s made that clear.”

Keeping Kane content could be one of Mourinho’s first priorities this summer, as Tottenham won’t have Champions League football to offer their star man.
Kane is one of the leading strikers in world football and there is surely only so long Tottenham can keep hold of him, unless a serious improvement is made.
Spurs are currently sat in eighth place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Newcastle United this evening.
