Speaking on the Ornstein & Chapman Podcast, Steve Madeley has claimed that Okay Yokuslu is making positive noises about staying at West Brom next season.
The Turkish midfielder has been a handy addition for the Baggies since joining in January, and despite the fact that West Brom have been relegated to the Championship, he’s open to extending his stay with Albion.
Of course, whether or not he does end up staying is another matter entirely, but Madeley believes there’ve been positive signs coming from Yosuklu.
“They’re probably set in defence with five key players under contract, and in the wide areas they’ve got good options, but in the centre of midfield as you say, Maitland-Niles and Gallagher are definitely going to be gone, but Okay is an interesting one, I’ve been told that he’s made some positive noises around the club about staying on next season. Of course, that’s easy to say at this stage, but it’s not as easy to follow through on it if he gets Premier League interest, which I think he will,” Madeley said.

This is certainly an interesting update.
Yokuslu would be a brilliant addition in the Championship and he’s play a huge role in West Brom’s quest to bounce straight back after relegation.
However, as Madeley says, there is a caveat in the fact that he may attract interest from other Premier League clubs, and that will be hard for him to turn down.
Whether or not Yokuslu returns for another spell at West Brom remains to be seen, but this is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
