Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been reacting after Fabrizio Romano claimed they’ve approached Cagliari for Nahitan Nandez.
The Uruguayan has been starring in Serie A for a number of years now, and it seems as though Spurs are now serious about bringing him to England.
Fabio Paratici will know the player well from his time in Italy, and he would add a lot of grit to the Spurs midfield.
What type of player is Nandez? Well, we hate to typecast him, but he’s your traditional Uruguayan number six.
He has the famed ‘Garra Charrua’ that is so associated with Uruguayan football. He plays with his heart on his sleeve with tenacity and aggression, and while that isn’t good for his yellow card tally, it makes him a very good defensive midfielder.
One fan even went as far as to compare his passion and commitment to Erik Lamela’s and that’s a very good comparison to make.
Of course, Nandez is nothing like Lamela in terms of skills or position, but in terms of playing with such ferocity, he’s on a similar level.
