Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been full of praise for N’Golo Kante amid recent links with a move to Arsenal.
The French midfielder was, somewhat surprisingly, linked with a move to the Emirates last month, and one man who would seemingly be happy with that move is Seaman.
Indeed, the Gunners legend had nothing but good things to say about Kante, comparing the Chelsea ace to his old Arsenal teammate, Gilberto Silva.

Seaman spoke about Kante.
“When you watch Kante you think, how long can he go on for? But his stats are still way up there, the ground that he covers and he’s one of those players, he’s like Gilberto Silva was at Arsenal where they don’t get a lot of attention and they link everything up. He’s linking the defence to the midfield and the midfield to the attack. He’s a silent guy who does his business quietly, but he gets a lot done,” Seaman said.
Years ahead of him
With Kante turning 32 in a few months’ time, there have been some recent concerns about how long he can continue playing at the top level, but, in our view, this is a player with years ahead of him in his storied career.
Kante isn’t one of the fittest players in Premier League history by accident, this is a player who puts in an untold amount of work off the pitch, and with standards that high, he’ll be playing at the top level for some time yet.
Whether or not there is any truth to the links to Arsenal remains to be seen, but if the Gunners did go out and land Kante, they’d be getting one of the very best midfielders in Premier League history.
