It’s distinctly possible that Dele Alli has played his last game for Tottenham Hotspur.
Well, this season at least.
According to The Daily Mail, Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has sanctioned his winter move to Mauricio Pochettino’s Paris Saint-Germain as the transfer window winds down.
Spurs only have one more match before Monday’s deadline – and Alli won’t be involved.
The Portuguese coach has told Football London that the 24-year-old is injured and therefore won’t play any role in tomorrow’s visit to Brighton & Hove Albion.
He said: “He’s injured. I don’t know. He’s not even training with the team, so I don’t believe that in a couple of days he will be ready.”
It begs the question if the former MK Dons youth is genuinely injured.
He legitimately might be but, then again, it could also possibly be a front to deflect attention away from him.
After all, the Lilywhites midfielder has dropped cryptic clues on Instagram about his frustration under Mourinho this season.
Shortly after Spurs dropped points against Fulham earlier this month, the player uploaded a photo of himself looking fed up, having failed to get off the bench.
There certainly seems to be tension between Alli and the Tottenham boss, but it might not last for much longer.
