Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed to Football London that Giovani Lo Celso has picked up an injury and will be out for ‘a few weeks’ now.
There were reports early on in January that Lo Celso was set to miss the rest of the month.
But from Mourinho’s latest words it seems that he could be out for even longer than that, after he picked up an issue against Leicester.
“He’s injured. For a few weeks,” Mourinho said, in a brief update.
If Lo Celso is out for a ‘few’ more weeks then it could be well into February before he is seen in a Tottenham shirt again.
That is bad news for Spurs and Lo Celso, whose season just has not got going this time around.

The £27m million man (Goal) has struggled to find his rhythm, as he has failed to stay off the treatment table for a concerted period of time.
Lo Celso was one of the star performers during Mourinho’s first season at the club, but his persistent injury worries are now becoming a concern, and his absence means that Tottenham have lost a potentially key creative option at a busy stage of the season.
