Even some Arsenal fans have been giving Harry Kane props for his opener in Tottenham Hotspur’s win this afternoon.
Despite being sworn enemies by virtue of the fact they are both North London clubs, Arsenal fans have been praising the Spurs striker.
Tottenham beat Wolves 2-0 and from the moment Kane latches on to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s lofted ball, he doesn’t glance at the goal once.
But the 27-year-old still rounds the goalkeeper and taps into an empty net.
And some Arsenal fans on Twitter have put loyalties to one side to lavish praise on the Lilywhites marksman.
That goal was Kane’s 22nd of the season in the Premier League – and 32nd overall.
It put him one ahead of Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot, but the Liverpool star levelled up the individual battle in scoring away to West Brom.
With 32 goals and 16 assists in all competitions, it’s been another stunning year for Kane in the individual stakes, but Tottenham being sixth in the Premier League table will hurt him.
It’s yet another year without trophies – and probably Champions League football – for the club’s academy graduate and they may have a battle to keep hold of him this summer.
In short, he’s just different class and if Arsenal fans are saying it, you know it’s true.
