Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has tipped Gabriel Martinelli to have a great career in football following the Brazilian’s performance for the Gunners against Leicester City this weekend.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, the Ukrainian international believes the 21-year-old winger is set for a big future in the game after Martinelli once again impressed for Arsenal, with the attacker scoring the fourth and final goal against Leicester in a 4-2 win for the north London side.

Martinelli, signed by Edu Gaspar in 2019, scored the opening goal of the Premier League season in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Crystal Palace, and many supporters and pundits have been impressed with what they have seen from the South American talent this campaign, none so more than Zinchenko.

The 25-year-old fullback joined Arsenal from Manchester City this summer in a reported £30m deal, and Zinchenko has already established himself as a fan favourite with the Emirates Stadium faithful, with the versatile Ukrainian starting both Premier League games this season.

Indeed, Zinchenko has impressed many supporters in his first few matches with Arsenal, yet for the player himself, it is Martinelli who has caught his eye since moving to north London, with the Brazilian one of the best players on the pitch against Leicester on Saturday.

Zinchenko said: “He is incredible, he is a real diamond I would say exactly the same things about him that I say about Gabriel Jesus. The way these two guys are working, how everyone is working really, every single day is unbelievable. He [Martinelli] has got amazing quality and he’s still young. I am pretty sure he has an unbelievable future.”

Martinelli is regarded by many Arsenal fans as the youngster in the squad with the highest ceiling, and the winger showed and then some on Saturday against Leicester, with the winger running Wesley Fofana ragged and scoring a well-deserved goal to cap off the three points for the Gunners.

With the forward seemingly loving life in north London and rumours of a new contract, Martinelli has the potential to become a superstar for Arsenal and one of the all-time Premier League greats for the Gunners, with this season arguably the one where the Brazilian explodes into life at the Emirates Stadium.
