Speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Mikel Arteta is thrilled with the signing of Jorginho on deadline day.

Romano stated that Arteta is “in love” with the veteran midfielder’s experience and the impact he can bring to the Arsenal dressing room.

Jorginho, who has been a mainstay in the Italian national team for years and has won numerous titles including the Euros and the Champions League, is one of the most experienced players in the world right now, and Arteta was keen to add that level of experience to his side.

Arteta loves Jorginho’s experience

Romano shared what he knows about Jorginho and Arteta.

“I want to start with Arsenal, we know they wanted a central midfielder to help Mikel Arteta with the squad depth in that position. They were considering Moises Caicedo as a top option,” Romano said.

“It is important to mention that on Jorginho, Mikel Arteta made the difference. He wanted Jorginho, he’s a big fan of Jorginho, he’s in love with his experience and how popular Jorginho is in the dressing room, and all of these factors made Arsenal go for Jorginho as the best last-minute option.”

Important

This sort of experience is so important to an Arsenal team that is challenging for a league title.

While youngsters such as Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and William Saliba may be feeling the nerves as we enter the second half of this season, Jorginho will be able to keep his cool and guide his teammates to glory. He’s been there and done it all before.

You don’t win the Champions League and the Euros without having a cool head, and that’s exactly what Arsenal need to bring into their squad as we enter the final stretch of this title race.
