Speaking on Leeds United’s YouTube Channel, Eddie Gray has praised Patrick Bamford for the improvement in his game this season.
The Leeds legend was talking about the season so far, and he says that he’s been impressed with how much the squad have stepped up, with Bamford in particular being a player whose improvement has been highlighted.
“You look at the players, and you take Patrick Bamford. I look at Patrick, and 100 goals that’s a great achievement, but his game’s improved no end in recent months,” Gray said.
“His contribution to the side, he’s always worked hard, his contribution to the side now, the runs he’s making in behind defenders, I think everyone has stepped up.”
Gray’s not wrong, Bamford has really stepped things up this season.
It’s almost inexplicable how Bamford has been able to improve this much during such a short space of time.
Throughout his career he’s struggled in the Premier League, and even last season when Leeds were winning the Championship he had his rough patches, but now he looks like he’s going to score every single time he steps onto the pitch.
Leeds’ striker is on for 20 goals this season, and you would probably never have predicted that before a ball was kicked.
Bamford is clearly doing something right this season, and long may it continue at Elland Road.
