Emmanuel Petit has raved about Arsenal and France international central defender William Saliba.
The former Arsenal and France international star has been hugely impressed by how much William Saliba has improved.
Petit has noted how the 22-year-old Arsenal central defender is a better player now.
The pundit has said that Saliba is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League.
Praise for Arsenal and France defender William Saliba
But! Football Club quotes Petit as saying about Saliba, as translated by SportWitness: “He’s one of the best in England at centre-back. He’s a stalwart.
“He has a lot of composure and personality on the pitch. He’s improved his communication, his reading of the game and his management of what’s behind him.
“He relied a bit on his strength and speed, but now, he’s adapted to the demands of English football.”
Petit added: “With his physical dimension, he could bring more to set piece, like John Terry or Rio Ferdinand did.
“Passing out the back, he’s progressed a lot and he shouldn’t hesitate to take risks to go up a level, especially in the style of game in place at Arsenal.”
William Saliba a big player for Arsenal and France
In our opinion, William Saliba is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League and is a big player for Arsenal and for France.
The 22-year-old has played nine times for France already in his career.
Saliba was also part of the France squad that reached the final at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
The youngster is now one of the first names on the Arsenal teamsheet.

Saliba has given one assist in four Premier League appearances for Arsenal so far this season.
The Arsenal no. 2 scored two goals and provided one assist in 27 Premier League matches last season.
The Frenchman also scored one goal in four UEFA Europa League matches for the Gunners last campaign.
There was a time when Saliha had to leave Arsenal on loan.
And now the Frenchman is a star for the Gunners.
Under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, Saliba has improved and developed a lot.
What is scary is that Saliba is only 22 now.
There is still room for the youngster to grow.
If Saliba continues to develop and adds facets to his game, then he could become a world-class defender in the coming years.
Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season and will be determined to progress to the latter stages of the UEFA Champions League.
