Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been discussing Darwin Nunez and his future at Liverpool.
Nunez is finally hitting a bit of form at Anfield, and at the weekend he looked incredibly dangerous for the Reds.
However, after becoming the club’s record-signing in the summer, expectation is weighing heavily on the Uruguayan striker, but the forward has assured fans that he’ll be better next season.
Ferdinand is backing the centre-forward to come good next year, stating that he has all of the attributes to become a success at Anfield.

Nunez set for a big season
Ferdinand discussed the Liverpool striker.
“Do you know what I like about Nunez? I saw a quote from Nunez after. He said ‘I’m a bit like Suarez. Second season, I’ll come good. Done it at Benfica’,” Ferdinand said.
“I think he will. I honestly think he will come good. He’s got all the attributes that defenders don’t like to play against. He’s aggressive, he’s strong, he likes to run in behind, he’s a nuisance, he’s a bit unpredictable.”
Scary
The idea of Nunez hitting top gear next season is a scary prospect for the rest of the Premier League.
Make no mistake about it, Nunez is a player ready to dominate the English top flight. He’s bigger, stronger and faster than pretty much every player in this division, and if he can just refine his first touch and his final product, he will be an absolute nightmare to play against.
Ferdinand is backing the striker to come good, and, to be honest, we wouldn’t back against Nunez going and winning the Golden Boot next year.
