Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Robbie Fowler and Sam Allardyce have been discussing Steven Gerrard and whether he will ever manage Liverpool in the future.
Gerrard has, for a long time, been earmarked as a future Liverpool manager, but after being sacked by Aston Villa, questions have been raised around whether or not the 42-year-old will ever be at that level.
However, according to Fowler, Gerrard is good enough to be a future Liverpool manager, whereas Allardyce believes that it all depends on what Gerrard does next and which club he ends up at.

Gerrard will be Liverpool manager
Allardyce and Fowler spoke about Stevie G.
“Will Steven Gerrard ever manage Liverpool?” Fowler and Allardyce were asked.
“Yes, I think he needs to go to another club and do well, but I think he’s good, so potentially, yes,’ Fowler said.
“It depends how well he’s doing when the job comes up and what club he’s at. If he’s not doing as well as he should be he won’t be, if he’s doing as well as they want him to be, he will be,” Allardyce responded.
Could be
Gerrard becoming Liverpool manager just seems like a logical step eventually, but, as Allardyce says, he needs to be doing a good job when the Liverpool role comes up.
Sadly, Gerrard’s managerial stock is as low as it has ever been, but make no mistake about it, he’s a very talented coach.
Let’s not forget, he managed Rangers to an unbeaten season in Scotland, you don’t do that unless you’re a very good manager.
Gerrard needs to get back to his best, but if he does, the Liverpool job could eventually be his.
