Good news at Tottenham Hotspur has been in short supply this week.

Harry Kane’s failure to attend pre-season training at Spurs’ base has made it an awful last few days for the North Londoners.

But there was not one, but two pieces of good news for Tottenham today.

Cristian Romero finally sealed his move to the Lilywhites from Atalanta, following weeks of speculation.

But a little before that, it was announced by Tottenham that they had signed up club legend Michael Dawson in an ambassadorial role.

The 37-year-old called time on his playing career today, shortly before his return to North London was announced.

Here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to this news:

Quite unbelievably, Dawson was a Tottenham player the last time that the club won a trophy.

Spurs, under Juande Ramos, won a League Cup title by beating Chelsea way back in 2008.

In total, the former England international, who also won the club’s Player of the Year in 2010, clocked 324 appearances for the Lilywhites.
