Some Arsenal fans really aren’t buying the speculation about potentially signing a reported Liverpool target.
Thiago Alcantara of Bayern Munich has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield for much of this summer.
But with Liverpool reportedly refusing to pay his £27 million valuation [Bild], there’s a window for other clubs – like Arsenal – to steal a march on Jurgen Klopp’s side.
And according to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are indeed now interested in the Spanish midfielder.
But some fans of the Emirates Stadium club really can’t see it materialising, based on how advanced Liverpool seem to be in the chase.
Here’s how Arsenal supporters reacted to this one:
Will Arsenal sign him? Probably not, and it’s not because Liverpool want him – it’s because he’s just not a good fit.
Mikel Arteta reportedly wants Lyon star Houssem Aouar in North London and that’s the sort of profile that they should be looking at, not Thiago.
The former Barcelona midfielder is obviously class, but he also turns 30 next April and 22-year-old Aouar is such a better fit for the project that Arteta looks to be building.
