Chelsea fans have reacted on Twitter to rumours that Aston Villa could pounce for Tammy Abraham.
Perhaps the least surprising news of the summer transfer window so far, Villa want to bring back the out-of-favour Chelsea striker, who helped them return to the Premier League.
The Mirror have claimed that Villa are prepared to pay £40 million for the Englishman, who didn’t start a Premier League game in 2021 for his boyhood club.
Some sections of the Chelsea fanbase think they might be making a mistake with Abraham given his poaching talents.
Even though Abraham hardly featured for Chelsea last season, he still managed to outscore the likes of Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz.
Villa fans don’t need an introduction to Abraham because they know exactly what he can bring to the table.
But when some Chelsea supporters are reluctant to see him leave then it shows that this is a deal worth pushing for.
Dean Smith does have Ollie Watkins to choose from as a reliable number nine, but depth in quality is needed.
And a move for Abraham would help elevate their squad and also mean that Chelsea have a chunk taken out of their squad.
But with Abraham not earning the game time at Stamford Bridge, he has to be guaranteed game time at his next club, so that might prove to be a sticking point for Villa.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of Chelsea fans reacting to the Villa/Abraham rumours:
