The former Middlesbrough winger has endured a slow start to his Sheffield Wednesday career.
Adam Reach’s maiden season at Sheffield Wednesday left much to be desired.
The winger’s three goals and four assists from 42 outings did not quite reflect his status at the Owls’ then club-record signing.

In fairness to Reach, he did spend a lot of his early Hillsborough career covering at left-back, while he wasn’t the only Wednesday player who failed to live up to expectation last term.
But after scoring his second – and equally brilliant – goal of pre-season against Portimonense on Wednesday, Reach looks like a player reborn after his six-week summer break.
The 24-year-old’s superb strike – which you can watch below – followed a neat dummy from Wednesday’s newest recruit George Boyd, and was enough to win the game for Carlos Carvalhal’s side in the manager’s home country.
The Owls are back at it on Thursday, with SC Farense their opponents, which could provide Reach another opportunity to continue his recent form.
Here’s what Wednesdayites are saying about the former Middlesbrough man on social media…
