The West Ham United defender has proven to be an excellent addition to Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

When speaking during a guest appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club last night, West Ham ace Michail Antonio raved about his teammate Issa Diop, labelling the Frenchman as a ‘monster of a man’.
The 22-year-old centre-back joined the Hammers from Toulouse in the summer, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £22 million, and he has quickly established himself as a vital player for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Standing at 6ft 4in tall, Diop seems to be tailor made for the Premier League, what with its robust nature, and West Ham seem to have a real player on their hands.
Antonio is certainly a big fan of the centre-back.
The 28-year-old winger spoke exclusively to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club last night, and offered high words of praise for Diop, suggesting that his teammate is ‘frightening’:

“Issa Diop is frightening. He’s started off the season quite slowly coming from the French league, Toulouse, but as he’s been playing more and more he’s built up more confidence. He’s a monster of a man and he’s just showing it at the age of 22 now that he’s got a bright future ahead of him.”
Diop has already proven to be an excellent addition for West Ham, and he will need to maintain his fine form between now and the end of the season, if Pellegrini’s men are to have any chance whatsoever of finishing inside the top seven.
And for the price of just £22 million, it seems as though the Hammers have secured themselves a real bargain.
