Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Diogo Jota is fit, despite the fact he was missing from the training pictures that emerged on Thursday.
The attacker has had his injury problems this season, so it’s understandable why there was speculation about his fitness after he seemingly missed training earlier in the week.
Luckily, it seems as though the fact he wasn’t pictured in training was nothing to do with an injury, as Klopp confirmed that he’s not carrying any problems at the moment.

“He is fine, Diogo is fine,” Klopp said.
It seems as though Jota missing training was actually nothing to worry about.
We’ve seen this many times this season where fans have panicked about players missing training sessions only to be absolutely fine at the weekend, with a prime example being Leeds fans’ reactions to Raphinha’s absence before the Newcastle game.
Whether or not Jota starts on Saturday remains to be seen, but if he is left on the bench, it won’t be down to a fitness issue.
Fingers crossed we can get a few more positive updates on injuries at Anfield in the coming weeks as the likes of Nathaniel Phillips and Jordan Henderson look to return to action.
