Dean Smith has told Aston Villa’s official website that Emiliano Martinez is not injured.
Martinez did have a tight groin at some stage last week, but the Villa stopper has recovered from that problem now.
And when asked about Martinez’s fitness yesterday, Smith said: “There’s nothing new. Emi is okay, he had a tight groin which made him struggle kicking but he’s fine today, he’s training.”
That is good news for Villa, who are in action again this evening.
The claret and blues are set to take on Sheffield United, where they will be under pressure to pick up the three points.

It would have been a huge blow for Villa to lose Martinez for any significant period of time, as he has been so impressive this season.
But it seems that the Argentine will take his place in goal, which should boost Villa’s chances of picking up the three points.
