Speaking to A Bola, Diogo Jota has been discussing Darwin Nunez ahead of the Reds’ game against Rangers.

Nunez hasn’t had the easiest of starts to life at Anfield after joining the Reds in a club-record deal, this summer, but he seems to have hit a bit of form lately, netting against Arsenal over the weekend.

Jota says that Nunez has settled now and is feeling better after his goal, stating that he’s going to give more evidence of his quality against Rangers this evening.

Nunez to star

Jota backed Nunez to put in a big performance in the Champions League.

“In life we have to overcome things. As everyone saw, he started very well and people thought he had no problems adapting, but maybe it took a few more games to show the level he had shown last season at Benfica. Now he’s back, he’s scored, and he’s feeling better, and the team is understanding his game better. This is good for everyone and tomorrow [today] will give more evidence,” Jota said.

Chance to build confidence

This could be a great chance for Nunez to build a bit of confidence after a shaky start to life on Merseyside.

With all due respect to Rangers, their squad isn’t of the same quality as many of the sides in the Premier League, and Nunez could have a field day against the Gers.

However, with Liverpool firing blanks at the moment and struggling to make anything happen in the final third, Rangers will also fancy their chances of getting something against the Reds, despite going into the game as heavy underdogs.

Jota thinks that Nunez is going to show his brilliance at Ibrox, and Liverpool fans will be hoping that Jota’s prediction rings true.
