Speaking on the Die for Three Points Podcast, Neil Warnock has been discussing Newcastle United’s recruitment strategy and Dan Burn.
Warnock has been a champion of Burn’s for quite some time now. The former Sheffield United gaffer put Burn in his hypothetical England squad for this World Cup.
The Newcastle United defender has been an absolute rock at the back since joining the Magpies, whether he’s been playing at left-back or at centre-back.
Warnock has made no secret about how much he loves Burn, stating that he should be running his fan club due to how much he adores the former Brighton defender.

Warnock loves Burn
The manager waxed-lyrical about the Newcastle ace.
“What I like is how they’ve gone about it in a calm way. Trippier, I didn’t expect Trippier to be his first signing, you’d expect them to spend millions and have everyone raving about the money they’ve got,” Warnock said.
“I think their signings have been good me. You know me, I love Dan Burn. I really should be the secretary of his fan club because I think he’s fabulous,” Warnock said.
Proper Warnock player
As a 6 ft 7 centre-half, it’s not all that surprising to hear that Warnock absolutely loves Burn.
This is a manager that has had career-best performances using the likes of Aden Flint and Sol Bamba in his backline.
Warnock absolutely loves a physically dominating, vocal and energetic defender, and Burn ticks every single one of those boxes.
The English defender hasn’t made the England squad under Gareth Southgate, but we have to imagine he’d be the captain if Warnock had the job.
