Speaking on the Wrighty’s House Podcast, Ian Wright has been discussing reported Arsenal target Gabriel Jesus after he netted four goals against Watford at the weekend.
Jesus’ name was all over the headlines this weekend. He was linked with a move to Arsenal on Friday evening, and less than 24 hours later, he was netting four goals in a Premier League game against Watford, earning all sorts of praise for his showing.
One man who was very impressed by the Brazilian was Ian Wright.
The Arsenal legend labelled Jesus as ‘elite’, stating that he does a fantastic job all over the pitch.
What’s been said about Jesus?
Wright spoke about the striker.
“A complete performance, people will say that it’s Watford and they give you time and space. That’s how Jesus plays, he’s everywhere, and everywhere he pops up he knows exactly what he’s doing in that part of the pitch. He’s elite, another elite player, and he’s clutch as well,” Wright said.

Seal of approval
It seems as though Jesus has received the Ian Wright seal of approval, and that’s great news for Arsenal.
The Gunners are, according to David Ornstein, favourites to sign the Brazilian this summer.
“As things stand, Arsenal are the favourites to sign Gabriel Jesus, but nothing is done,” Ornstein said on The Athletic Football Podcast.
The fact that Wright, Arsenal’s 2nd-all-time leading scorer, believes Jesus is an elite forward tells you all you need to know about his ability.
The Manchester City attacker has shown in spells that he’s capable of being a top-level Premier League forward, but he’s never truly had the platform to showcase his abilities, but that could change this summer should this move come to fruition.
Whether or not Arsenal sign Jesus remains to be seen, but if they do, we’re sure Wright will be over the moon.
