Moise Kean’s superb start to life at Paris Saint-Germain has sparked comparisons between the Everton loanee and the legendary Edinson Cavani, as reported by RMC Sport, via TMW.
It’s hard to believe this is the same striker who looked about as useful as a chocolate teapot inside the penalty area during his ill-fated spell at Goodison Park.
In seven games at PSG, a fit and firing Kean has already scored more goals (5) than he managed in 37 matches on the other side of the Channel (4).
The most recent, a brilliantly taken long-range effort in a 3-0 trouncing of an impressive Rennes side, was reminiscent of the sort of lethal finish Cavani would produce during a trophy-laden, seven-year spell in the French capital.
And, according to former PSG ace Jerome Rothen, Kean shares a few similarities with not just Cavani but also the £45 million Mauro Icardi due to his fearsome physical strength, intelligent movement and predatory, penalty-box instincts.
“Kean brings something different: he is dynamic, he plays in the centre of the attack but also on the wings. He is a bit of a mix between Cavani and Icardi, even if he can improve technically,” 13-time France international Rothen explains.

“What matters is that he scores.”
Rothen even believes that Kean, after his heroic performances in both Ligue 1 and the Champions League, has moved ahead of former Inter Milan captain Icardi in Thomas Tuchel’s pecking order.
That, however, remains to be seen
Icardi is still one of the most fearsome number nines on the planet and, if the Argentine hadn’t spent the last few weeks on the sidelines with injury, Kean would probably still be twiddling his thumbs on the bench.
