Darren Bent says former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ‘done in the Premier League’ ahead of his exit from Chelsea.

This time last season, Mikel Arteta had stripped Aubameyang of the captain’s armband at the Emirates, let him go to Barcelona and then opted against bringing in a few face during the January transfer window.

That call by the Arsenal boss was criticised by some, but in the end, it has had a long-term benefit.

The current Premier League leaders are in a far better position, with the currently injured Gabriel Jesus doing wonders and now Eddie Nketiah cooking in his place.

Aubameyang, 33, did return to the Premier League in the summer when he headed for Chelsea, but Thomas Tuchel was sacked not long after the player’s arrival.

Well, fast forward to the present and he has been left out of Graham Potter’s Champions League squad, he’s hardly earning minutes in the Premier League and now he’s set for a transfer to the MLS, with Darren Bent sharing his thoughts, as he told talkSPORT.

“It wouldn’t surprise me (if he does join LAFC)” said Bent. “I think he’s done in the Premier League now.

“It was strange when he came back because Thomas Tuchel signed him, and then he was sacked a day later. (But) he was on fire, at first, at Barcelona.”

NOTHING PERSONAL, BUT ARTETA WAS PROVEN RIGHT

During Arteta’s time at Arsenal, he has made some very big calls. From booting out Mesut Ozil to his ruthless call on Aubameyang.

Well, since the £160k-a-week star (Spotrac) returned to Premier League shores, he has only managed one goal in the league, someone like Granit Xhaka has scored more.

It’s clear that the Gabon star’s time in England is done.
