Virgil van Dijk has claimed that Liverpool’s new boy, Darwin Nunez, is ‘difficult to play against’ after he had a debut to remember against Manchester City.
Liverpool’s big-money summer signing came off the bench to score during his side’s Community Shield victory, with Van Dijk adding that he is now hoping he can ‘show that for the rest of the season’, as posted by Hayters TV.
It’s the perfect start to life on Merseyside for Nunez and he will now be preparing for his Premier League debut at the weekend.

Whilst it was an impressive cameo from the bench, more than likely, the South American star will start from the bench at Fulham, with Roberto Firmino leading the line.
Nonetheless, Liverpool’s £75 million centre-back (BBC Sport) discussed Nunez’s start and how he needs to put his head down and work.
“It’s been important (Nunez’s impact),” said Van Dijk. “First with the penalty moment. It was a good header, I have no idea if it was going to be on goal or not.
“He’s difficult to play against. Hopefully, he can show it for the rest of the season and we will all help him in some ways, make sure that he is comfortable and calm.
“Just work and don’t focus on what the outside world has to say because everyone has to say something these days. Head down, score goals, work and be important for the club.”

LIFE AFTER SADIO MANE BEGINS
The now-Bayern Munich star will go down as a Liverpool legend and with a big reason because of what he produced and won at the club.
A player of that quality will always be a massive miss and life without the Senegal star begins when the Reds face Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Whilst Nunez was brought in during the same window as Mane left, he won’t be the only one expected to fill the void left by the Africa Cup of Nations winning star.
The likes of Firmino, Mo Salah and Diogo Jota will be expected to pick up even further, whilst January signing, Luis Diaz, will now have an even more important role to play.
Either way, this Liverpool forward line is going to be as dangerous as ever and it wouldn’t be a surprise if 90+ points are posted again.
