Michael Owen has lauded Leeds United’s ‘brave’ winger Raphinha, whilst talking on Amazon Prime.

The former Premier League striker stated that Raphinha is someone who is ‘different’ and a player that ‘gets you off your seat’.

Raphinha has scored six Premier League goals for Leeds this season and that in 12 Premier League matches.

Not only is Raphinha’s stock rising in the best league in the world, but he has also started like a house on fire for Brazil after recently being called up for the first time.

Despite Leeds’ struggles near the bottom of the table, Owen picked out Raphinha as one of their best players so far.

“He’s so direct,” said Owen. “He’s different, isn’t he? He gets you off your seat.

“He’s positive. He tries to beat players. He has a wand of a left foot. He is a typical wide player that he likes coming in, cutting in and onto his left foot. How many players do we see like that now?

“He’s brave enough to take people on even in dangerous situations and turn defence into attack.”

It could be argued that Raphinha is probably Leeds’ most important player right now.

With Patrick Bamford out injured, Marcelo Bielsa is relying upon his magic from the right flank, to get the club going.

Even with Bamford in the XI, it’s probably between the Leeds striker, Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips as to who would be the first name on the teamsheet between the trio.

Either way, Leeds fans will be desperate to see all three players out on the pitch at the same time, so they can move up the table.
