Sunday’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur was disappointing for Arsenal on a number of levels.

But arguably the worst aspect of the result was the fact that Thomas Partey hobbled off injured before the break.

This was Partey’s first game for Arsenal in a month due to injury and Gunners boss Mikel Arteta – who pushed the 27-year-old back on to the field just before Harry Kane’s goal – confirmed afterwards that this latest knock is connected to the last.

December is a busy month for the North Londoners and having their £45 million powerhouse sidelined for the whole thing could be a huge blow.

And according to one journalist, that’s a possibility.

Charles Watt, who covers Arsenal for Goal.com, has revealed via his YouTube channel that he hasn’t heard positive things about the injury.

The journalist claims that people close to the former Atletico Madrid powerhouse are ‘genuinely worried’ and that the player himself is ‘devastated’ to be out again.

He said: “I spoke to people fairly close to Thomas Partey earlier this morning, and they said they’re genuinely worried about the injury, he’s desperate to help the team.

“He’s devastated to be injured again and that he’d fought back really hard to get back in the side for the Spurs game, and then for it to happen again, he’s devastated.”

With the Gunners 15th in the Premier League table, now isn’t the time for Arsenal to pick up major injuries.

This has been a dreadful domestic season for Arteta’s side and they desperately need good news on the Partey front, but it doesn’t look good.
