Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after RMC Sport (via Record) revealed that Luis Campos has left his role as Sporting Director at LOSC Lille.
Why does this concern Tottenham?
Well, according to the Daily Record, Jose Mourinho was keen to get the transfer guru involved in the club’s recruitment set-up after arriving in north London.
Mourinho had already taken Joao Sacramento and Nuno Santos from LOSC Lille upon his appointment as Mauricio Pochettino’s replacement.
The former arrived as assistant manager, while the latter became a goalkeeping coach in north London.
The Daily Record also state that Campos asked Gerard Lopez – the Ligue 1 outfit’s president at the time – if he could be released from his contract back in October.
Campos worked alongside Mourinho at Real Madrid, and remains a trusted associate of the ex-Chelsea boss.
Mourinho also recommended the negotiator to Ed Woodward while at Manchester United, although the Red Devils chief decided not to interview him.
Now Campos has left the French club however, we might see some developments in Mourinho’s pursuit of him, in our view.
It would be a great coup for Spurs.
Campos has previously found gems such as Kylian Mbappe, Nicolas Pepe and Anthony Martial throughout his recruitment career.
