Gareth Bale has been linked with a return to Tottenham Hotspur for a number of seasons now.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left delighted after Gareth Bale called himself a supporter of the club last night.
Bale was being interviewed about last season’s Champions League by BT Sport, when the Real Madrid winger showed that he still loves Spurs.
“Tottenham were there [in the final] so I had a very keen interest,” he said.
“I was hoping that they would get to the final like they did and there were some great matches, especially in the semi finals.
“For us Tottenham fans it was a bit disappointing in the final, but you have to look at the bigger picture and they made a good account of themselves.”
Bale’s admission that he is a Tottenham fan has just led to the shouts for the Welshman to come back to grow louder.
And many Spurs fans were delighted to see Bale showing how much he still cares for the club on camera.
Bale has been linked with a move back to Tottenham for a number of years now, but it seems that the club simply cannot finance a deal right now.
Bale is on one of the biggest contracts in world football at Real Madrid, which makes the transfer very complicated.
Bleacher Report actually suggest that Spurs would like to bring Bale back to North London, but they are not in the position to do so financially this summer.
Bale made 203 appearances for Tottenham during his last spell with the club, scoring on 55 occasions.
