Houssem Aouar to Arsenal may be shaping up to be yet another transfer saga.

The Gunners spent the whole summer transfer window of last year trying to prise the Lyon playmaker away from France, failing with two bids.

At the time, Lyon wanted £45 million for the 23-year-old midfielder but fast forward 12 months, Arsenal could get Aouar for as little as £20 million now.

Tuttosport reported on Thursday that the North Londoners had ditched Manuel Locatelli and were focusing all of their efforts on signing the Frenchman.

And there’s been an interesting development on that front.

The player’s agent and brother has uploaded a photo of himself in London and given the speculation surrounding a move to Arsenal, it doesn’t take a genius to work out how fans of the Emirates Stadium club reacted to this one.

Here’s what they’re saying on social media:

Pep loves him

Aouar is a massive talent.

Back in 2018, a certain Pep Guardiola of Manchester City labelled him an ‘incredible‘ player and no doubt he would improve Arsenal in a big, big way.

The Gunners’ problem last season wasn’t conceding goals for once; it was actually scoring them and what a coup this would be for Mikel Arteta because somebody like Aouar is exactly what is needed.

That being said, it must be noted that the final of Euro 2020 between England and Italy is taking place at Wembley on Sunday.

But is that more of a reason for the brother of a London-linked club to be in the English capital?

Answers on a postcard.
