Liverpool kicked off their pre-season campaign this morning.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have jetted out to Austria to begin preparing for the 2021-22 campaign.
Liverpool released some photos of the first session via their Twitter account – and some fans of the Anfield club have spotted a rarely-seen figure.
Kostas Tsimikas, an £11 million signing by the Reds last summer, was present in Klopp’s training.
And here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted to seeing him.
Not doing enough
A lot more is expected of the Greek left-back next time around.
That’s because last season, the 25-year-old managed only five minutes of Premier League action spread across two appearances – and played just seven games overall.
Injury had a role in that but, for the most part, Tsimikas just didn’t do enough to get more game time.
Whatever happens, the former Olympiacos star is destined for a covering role due to the fact that Andy Robertson is streets ahead of him in the pecking order.
But still, £11 million isn’t exactly peanuts – it’s £4 million more than what Robertson cost, come to think of it – and Klopp is going to demand more next season.
