Stephen Warnock has stated that Raphinha is a ‘class’ player for Leeds United and ‘so confident in his own ability’, as he told Final Score.

On Saturday, the Leeds speedster showcased his talents once more by scoring during his side’s 3-2 defeat at Chelsea.

It was an afternoon of mixed emotions for the goalscoring wide man because he opened the scoring from the penalty spot.

But then found himself lunging in an unnecessary towards Antonio Rudiger in the penalty area, which at the time, put the home team 2-1 ahead.

Even though Leeds were without a number of key players against the Premier League title-chasers.

They let themselves down with their error-prone mistakes and individual actions that could have been avoided.

That was touched upon by ex-Leeds defender Warnock, whilst he was praising the talent at Raphinha’s feet.

“He is class,” said Warnock. “He is so confident in his own ability.”

On his foul on Rudiger: “There’s no need to go to ground. It’s Rudiger in a position on the left-hand side of the box. But towards the goal line. He doesn’t need to make that challenge. It’s silly, isn’t it?

“The theme seems to be poor errors and bad decisions. And that is a bad decision from Raphinha.”

From taking on one Premier League title challenger to another for Leeds, but this time to a ground where they had success last season.

Marcelo Bielsa and his injury-hit squad will make the short trip to Manchester to take on the Premier League champions at the Etihad.

Last season, Bielsa got the better of his student by claiming all three points away from, as well as a point at Elland Road.
