James Milner has suggested that Takumi Minamino is the most popular player at Liverpool, as he told ITV Sport.
The senior Liverpool player shared that Minamino is a ‘great guy’ and someone who delivers every time he is handed a chance.
That was provided to the versatile forward in midweek when Jurgen Klopp’s side recorded a 2-1 win over Norwich in the FA Cup.
With the main men, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Diogo Jota not starting, it was Minamino who netted a brace at Anfield.
Milner spoke highly of his teammate, especially in training and when asked ‘is there a more popular player in your squad?’, this is the response he provided.
“No, he’s a great guy,” said Milner. “What a guy. What a player. He’s been patient. With the players that we have there is competition all over the place.
“But every time he comes in, he delivers and he’s such a nice guy. You are delighted for him every time he scores.
“He just carries on, every single day he is at that level. He is brilliant in training. Great temperament, regardless of what is happening. You can rely on him. He comes in and keeps scoring goals and important goals.”

Minamino hasn’t started a Premier League game this season, and in truth, he will find it difficult to do so.
But, it’s players like the 27-year-old that are providing the Reds with that much-needed depth to compete on all fronts.
January signing Diaz has also added to that in recent weeks, whilst youngster Harvey Elliott is thriving despite still being in his teens and returning from an ankle break.
All of this, added with the usual suspects, is making Liverpool’s forward line one of the most lethal in world football.
