Some Leeds United fans on social media have been getting very excited after it was reported that they’ve made a bid for Lyon winger Maxwel Cornet.
The Ivorian has been a star in Ligue 1 for a number of years at this point, and it seems as though the Whites are keen to bring him to the Premier League.
Cornet is probably best known by Premier League fans for his Champions League showings against Manchester City, and it’s fair to say that he’s caught the eye against the Cityzens in Europe.
Cornet has scored four goals in three appearances against Pep Guardiola’s side, and if those performances are a sign of things to come from him in England, he’s bound to be a very exciting player.
One fan even went as far as to say he’s better than Raphinha off the back of those Champions League showings, and while that is a bold claim, we have to say that it may not be too wide of the mark.
Cornet could follow in Raphinha’s footsteps by becoming a star under Marcelo Bielsa after first cutting his teeth in France, and it’s fair to say that Leeds fans are very excited about this prospective transfer.
