Craig Burley and Stevie Nicol have backed Tottenham Hotspur to secure the transfer of Everton goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford, who is ‘better than Hugo Lloris’, as they told ESPN.
The former Chelsea midfielder stated ‘there is talk’ of Antonio Conte’s Tottenham wanting to sign Pickford from Everton, after another error-prone performance from Lloris.
Spurs couldn’t believe their luck at one point when they were 2-0 up at Manchester City inside the first half in midweek, but in typical fashion, it was 4-2 to the hosts, including Lloris allowing Manchester City’s third goal from Riyad Mahrez to beat him at his near post.

There have been error-prone moments from Lloris this season, but post-World Cup, which included him retiring from international duty with France, has declined even further.
There was the error for Aston Villa’s opening goal a number of weeks ago, then there was his own goal in the north London derby and now his most recent performance against Man City.
It’s pretty clear that those at Hotspur Way are going to look for a long-term replacement for their long-serving player, with Pickford getting a mention.
“There has been talk of Pickford from Everton, obviously they are struggling,” said Burley. “He is an international goalkeeper, whether we think he’s good enough.
“I think he is a decent goalkeeper. I don’t think he is brilliant.”
Stevie Nicol added: “But he’s better than Lloris, right?!”
Burley responded: “Well, I think he has fewer mistakes in him than Lloris. But I don’t think he (Conte) will drop him because, number one he is his captain and number two, he has made mistakes before and quite a lot of them for Tottenham and he hasn’t dropped him.”

TOTTENHAM’S LINKS WITH PICKFORD
On the international stage, the 50-cap England international has been outstanding for his country and he has never put a foot wrong.
In two World Cups and at Euro 2020, he has stood tall and proved his worth. The criticism of the former Sunderland man comes from his performances on the domestic stage.
For most parts, during the past two seasons, he has been one of Everton’s best players, which doesn’t take much given their struggles.
But those error-prone ways are still there, including punching at thin air during Everton’s defeat to Bournemouth prior to the World Cup.
