Gabby Agbonlahor has told Darren Bent that Newcastle United defender Dan Burn is ‘better’ than AC Milan star Fikayo Tomori, as he posted on Twitter.

Former Sunderland striker Bent was left baffled by Tomori’s exclusion by England and his lack of minutes under Gareth Southgate, before Agbonlahor proceeded to tell his former teammate that he’s not even better than Newcastle’s man at the back.

England and their centre-backs have been the talk of the town of late, with Manchester United captain Harry Maguire the headline act.

Many felt that Maguire shouldn’t have been selected by Southgate and players like Tomori, who won the Serie A last season, should be playing ahead of the out-of-form player.

But Southgate has stuck to his guns, as Maguire made two mistakes, including giving away a penalty as the Three Lions recorded a 3-3 draw against Germany in the UEFA Nations League on Monday night.

Nonetheless, despite calls from Bent for Tomori to be handed a chance, Agbonlahor seemingly suggested that there is an uncapped player from St James’ Park ahead of him.

MAGUIRE SELECTION CAUSING DRAMA

Southgate isn’t helping himself by picking Maguire because, not only is he out-of-form, but he’s also warming Manchester United’s bench, at this moment time.

It seems as though he will be going to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, unless there is a drastic change of mind from the England manager.

So, during these next six weeks or so, Southgate better pray Maguire earns minutes under Erik ten Hag because if he doesn’t, then England could be headed to Qatar with a lot of negative noise.
