Speaking on ESPN, Don Hutchinson has been discussing Dusan Vlahovic amid ongoing links to Arsenal this month.
The Serbian is reportedly a player the Gunners are keen on, but as of yet, they’ve been unable to make any real breakthrough in negotiations.
Indeed, the player and his agents are not quite sold on Arsenal, while Vlahovic himself has made it clear that he wants to stay at Fiorentina until the end of the season.
Hutchinson believes that Vlahovic is being very clever in keeping his options open.
What’s been said about Vlahovic?
Hutchinson gave his view on Vlahovic and how he’s handling this transfer speculation.
“Incredible player, but he keeps making noises, he’s being linked with Arsenal every other day and he keeps making noises that he’s not ready for that move yet. I think he’s being very smart, he’s keeping his options open. He’s probably looking at Serie A, I can imagine Juve would come in in the summer and they would certainly be favourites for him. He might just be evaluating where Arsenal are, if Arsenal finish top four then maybe that is a move for him in the summer, but I don’t see him coming to England just yet,” Hutchinson said.

Acting smartly
To say Vlahovic is only 21, he’s acting very smartly here.
Yes, he could go to Arsenal right now, play as their first-choice striker and earn massive amounts of money, but that may not be the right decision.
With all due respect to Arsenal, they aren’t guaranteed Champions League football next year, and moving to the Emirates would be something of a gamble for the Serbian.
If he waits until the end of the season, he can continue his good form for Fiorentina and increase his value while also getting a clearer picture of where the clubs that are currently in for him truly stand.
