Darren Bent has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur forward, Heung-Min Son, is ‘getting better the older he gets’.

The former striker added that he is surprised Son, who has been ‘so consistent’ for Spurs, hasn’t been linked with other clubs that are winning trophies.

At the age of 29, Son is at the peak of his powers and one of the most important players for his Champions League-chasing side.

Whilst there was that well-documented talk of Harry Kane and Manchester City in the summer, there is very little transfer talk relating to Son.

Bent thinks that the South Korean star gets into ‘any Premier League side’, as he lauded the ‘fantastic’ finishing he has in his locker, as he told Premier League Productions.

“If you look at his record over the last few seasons, he has been so consistent,” said Bent.

“It’s difficult to compare him to someone like a Dennis Bergkamp because he was a magician and a completely different operator.

“But he is direct. Son is a fantastic finisher with both feet. Works incredibly hard. He doesn’t give you any problems off the pitch. And he seems to be getting better the older he gets. He seems to understand his role at Spurs as well.

“For me, I think he gets into any Premier League side. The fact that he’s not linked to the clubs that are competing for the top trophies, is surprising to me that is.”

Tottenham fans will be grateful that Son’s name isn’t being touted about because that’s one less player to worry about.

Son did sign a new contract at the start of the season and those in Hotspur Way will be hoping Kane follows suit.

Both are record-breaking stars and they will be hoping to add to their numbers next season.

With Antonio Conte at the helm, the club can dream big, as this forthcoming summer transfer window is going to be huge for all involved.
