Gareth Bale has revealed that Heung-Min Son actually is part of Tottenham Hotspur’s ‘Welsh Mafia’ on the club’s official Twitch channel.
Bale’s now famous WM celebration has led to interest rising over who is in the exclusive Tottenham club.
And Bale has now revealed that Son has earned honorary status as a Welshman, alongside himself, Joe Rodon and Ben Davies.
“We knew the other Mafia was Moussa, Serge and Tanguy – La Mafia,” he said.
“So we decided to create a Welsh Mafia, but the original Welsh Mafia had four of us because Sonny is in it.
“He’s basically Welsh to us. We’re a bit disappointed because all the pictures have us three and Lucas – but really Sonny should be the fourth man.
“We actually edited Sonny’s face over Lucas’s on my phone.”
Tottenham fans were given a huge laugh in Spurs’s recent game with Burnley, as Bale looked genuinely frustrated when Lucas decided to make an L sign, while he was doing his WM celebration after scoring.
Lucas has taken it upon himself to create the Lucas Mafia, which the Brazilian appears to be the only member of.
Lucas has now been filmed making the L sign with his hand in all of Tottenham’s most recent games, in what is rapidly becoming a trademark for the attacking midfielder.
Lucas, Bale and the rest of the Welsh Mafia will next be in action for Tottenham tomorrow, when they face Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.
