Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has taken to Twitter to confirm that he’s back in full training having recovered from a hand injury.

With the Reds needing a new shot-stopper, manager Jurgen Klopp went back to Germany to bring in competition for Simon Mignolet, snapping up Karius from Mainz.

The 23-year-old had previously had a spell in English football with Manchester City, but made his name as one of the top goalkeepers in the Bundesliga with Mainz, missing just one game in the last two seasons.

However, he has already missed the first three games of the Premier League season having broken a bone in his hand during Liverpool’s pre-season preparations, ruling him out of the first month of fixtures.

Now though, Karius is stepping up his recovery – and took to Twitter on Tuesday to reveal that he is back in full training, posting a picture of himself in training too.

Mignolet has started the season as Liverpool’s first-choice goalkeeper with Karius out of the picture, and many would expect Karius to usurp him – after all, that’s seemingly why the German was brought to Anfield in the first place.

However, Belgian international Mignolet hasn’t done much wrong this season, despite his major critics, and it leaves Klopp with a major decision going forward.

Karius is unlikely to start against Leicester City this weekend, but looking beyond that game, we could see Klopp go with his summer signing as his first-choice goalkeeper in the near future.
